Below is my latest work – ‘The Long View, Dollymount, Dublin’.
The piece was commissioned by the Clontarf Castle Hotel who wanted a painting to reflect the nearby coastline as an addition to their fantastic art collection. This is the largest painting I have made to date, taking just over two full months of work to complete. It was a joy to create from start to finish ! There was a great reception when the painting was presented and in the words of the hotel owners, “The painting immediately fitted in and dramatically uplifted the area in which it hung”.
It shows a scene vast in space with the familiar colours and light of the Irish coastline. The reflected light bouncing over the rippling surface of the water, the formation of clouds along the horizon of the Dublin mountains with their golden and purple hues – uniquely Irish. The figures immersed in the twinkling seascape evoking memories of childhoods spent by the seaside. The iconic ‘pigeon towers’ at Ringsend can be seen in the distance cutting the horizon. The newer, smaller towers can also be seen to the right of this. This gives a bit of history and times past and present, with both old and new standing together. This painting, set on Dollymount strand, now resides at The Clontarf Castle Hotel.
Regarding other projects,
It has been a fantastic year so far for me as an artist. I have and am currently creating many interesting pieces and am really enjoying working with clients and Gormleys Fine Art Gallery, who have been representing my work so well for the past couple of years.
The addition of selling prints through the website has worked out extremely well with the ease of which they can be ordered and the quality of the printed images of my work being of a very high standard. A great idea for Christmas presents coming into the festive season for those who enjoy my work.
Best regards,
Ronan Goti.
